| sitting on the boardwalk
|
| The sunset was beautiful tonight. The sun went down in glorious hues of purples, pinks, oranges and reds. Swirling together to give the sun a beautiful send off for yet another night. I watched it descend from the purple wild flower filled hill, which resides at the back of my house overlooking the lake. The constant pressure of being a teenager and stress of fighting parents, consumes me with horrendous headaches and migraines almost daily. The only way to cure them is to relax. The only way for me to be able to achieve some sort of relaxation is to be alone on the hill and watch the sunset. The sun is gone now and I welcomed the moon as I casually strolled down to the old boardwalk, and gazed out across the water.
It glistened, while dancing under the moonlight. I sat and watched the mesmerising pattern of light the gentle waves created. The soundless and still night was soothing against the searing pain raging inside my head. I continued to listen to the gentle waves, while dangling my bare feet over the edge of the boardwalk. The warm, subtle ripples lapped at my feet. The night air surrounding me was warm and humid but not unbearably so. The constant pounding in my head was slowly subsiding.
It has been three hours now, sitting here on the boardwalk. My head has stopped now, my head feels calm and clear, though the mere thought of walking back into that house threatens to bring it back. But being as though its 11pm, I reluctantly head back to the house and back to my constant headache. |
