The story starts with a Karthick comes running with his +2 result in newspaper to his parents (Ramesh & Ramya) and said his parents that I got passed in the exam in first class. Hearing this news his parents were very happy. His father asked him what you are going to do next. Karthick told I want to study Bsc (Computer Science) in Loyola College. Ramesh told but in Loyola College the fees will be high. Karthick said don’t worry dad I am planning to go for a part time job.
After some days Karthick and his best friend Kevin planned to go for an interview Karthick went for a domestic call center job in “VOICETEL” and that first interview itself Karthick got selected as a “Customer Care Executive”. Karthick came happily and said to his parents that I got selected in call center. His parents were very happy, but his father asked how you will spare the time for your studies and work at a time. Karthick said my work time is 4pm to 12am and my college time is 9am to 2pm. Ramesh asked when you will sleep and when you will study. Karthick said don’t worry dad after my college I have two hours. I’ll study on that time from my college itself. After that I’ll go to college. It will take just 15minitus to go to my office. After coming from office I have time for my sleep. Dad you and mom don’t worry about all these things. I’ll take care. Ramesh said, Sending you to work is my mistake also, now it’s your wish.
Two weeks later Karthick joined the call center first one month was his training after a month he hit the floor. On the same day he joined the college. Within few days he got many new friends in his college as well as in his office also. Karthick got very good name in his office with his Team Leaders and seniors and also with his seniors and professors in his college.
One day Karthick went to office after his college. Karthick entered the floor a person came before him with sweets. He offered Karthick to take the sweet; Karthick asked what the matter is? The person said that today is my birthday. Karthick starts to wish him and stops in the middle and asked him, sorry sir your name please! He replayed my name is Gurunathan. Karthick wished him “Many more happy returns of the day Mr. Guru”. Guru replayed thank you Mr.…..? Karthick. Thank you so much Karthick. In the break Guru introduced his friends Dev, Siva, Senthil. Karthick become good friend of them. All used to enjoy their break time in the office together.
One day in the break Karthick called his friend Kevin because Kevin told that he is going for an international call center for an interview, so Karthick called Kevin to ask what happened to his interview. Kevin screamed in joy and said hey buddy I got selected in the interview and they asked me to join next week. Karthick said congratulation buddy. Kevin asked when you will be coming. Karthick said tomorrow morning only, we will meet in the college. Karthick said ok, bye.
Karthick went to college next day morning and saw his friend Kevin. Kevin told that he was selected in “Lotus” International Call Center. Karthick asked about the nature of job and about his pay. Kevin told my pay is 12k. And my job timing is 7pm to 3am. It’s a UK based call center. It’s a software technical call center and the girls in my office are very beautiful and awesome. What about your office. Karthick said my office is domestic call center of VOICETEL mobiles my pay is 6k and my timing is 4pm to 12am. Kevin asked Karthick why you can’t come to my office for an interview. Karthick said let me try it later after some times. I got some good friends here and for exams I need to get leaves in my office they will grant me leave I don’t know about international call center. Ok now it’s all your wish.
After some months as usual Karthick went to his office he saw all are discussing about something Karthick went and asked guru what discussing is going on. Guru said they are planning for a team outing of one day and they are discussing were to go if you got any suggestion inform the team leader Mr.Dharmaraj. I don’t have any suggestions. Team lead Mr.Dharmaraj told that we are going to MGM next week for team outing. As said all went for MGM and enjoyed the day and returned happily.
A day Karthick’s father called him and asked him how is your study going on and how your job is going on. Karthick replayed both are going very fine, you’re seeing my exam result so that you could know that how am I studying. Ramesh said I am asking about your work load. Karthick said it’s not load dad. I am happy about what I am doing dad.
Months later Karthick asked for ten days of leave to his manager Kumar for his exams in the college. Manager Kumar also accepted for the leave to his examinations. Karthick went for his exams and he also done the exam well. After his examinations Karthick came to office and meet his friends.
One day when Karthick reached office Dharmaraj told there will be a meeting today with the HR team. So all must attend the meeting. After some time TL Dharma called all his team boys to come to the meeting in the meeting they were discussing about the issues in the office. All gave their own issues in office to the manager Kumar. Karthick gave the issue that in the offer letter its written that we will be Permanente after 6 months and the salary increment will be done in 12 months but its 15 month already still I dint got any salary increment and dint even got the confirmation letter. Manager Kumar told that will be issuing your confirmation letter soon. And other issues like salary increment will be rectified soon. Guru told already we are waiting for the salary increment for the past 6 months, so please give the exact date sir. Kumar told that at the max of 1 month. Guru and others told ok sir for your word we will wait exactly for 1 month. After 1 month still salary increment was not even spoken. So one day all the staff logged off. 1000s of calls were got abandon due to log off. Manager Kumar came to the floor and shouted what the bloody hell is going on here? Guru and his friends told that you told salary increment will be done with in 1 month now its 1month and 2weeks still there is no increment not even a talk about it. So we don’t login to calls till you give the exact date. Kumar told ok I’ll confirm this next week itself. After that only all went and logged in the calls. So Kumar got some misunderstanding with guru, Karthick and his friends. After a week again the meeting took place and the salary was also increased up to 10% to the staffs.
Next day Karthick came and logged in to the system someone called him. Karthick turned back that was a new joiner and her name is Diana. She was standing with the chocolate box. She told today is my birthday sir. Karthick wished her and took the chocolate. Diana asked Karthick shall I ask you something. Karthick said yes please. Diana asked I never seen you talking to anyone, are you a silent guy. Karthick said not at all, if you don’t mind I’ll be your friend. Diana said ok and she said I got a new friend on my birthday and she left the place.
After 6 month one day when he reached the office he saw a girl sitting outside the HR cabin for the interview she as so beautiful she looks bubbly and cute like a Brahmin girl. Karthick looked at her some time and left the place.
After a week he saw the same girl in the floor he was happy and thinks that she is a new joinee so while giving her training and talk with her. On that time manager came with her and introduced her that she is the new supervisor for you. Hearing this Karthick was shocked. Manager Kumar introduced all the team leads and Assistant Team leads Karthick is also an ATL. Kumar introduced her to Karthick and other ATLs that she is Ms Sophia and other important thing she is the sister of Diana. It’s a second shock for him because Diana is a good friend of Karthick. Karthick have spoken to Sophia and Diana interrupted and introduces Karthick as he is the one who became a friend of mine on my birthday. Sophia said “oh your Mr. Karthick, she have already told about you. Karthick also talk to Sophia sometimes and left.
After some days Sophia also become a very good friend of Karthick. Karthick’s friendship towards Sophia turns to love, but he dint said his love to her. On a month Karthick came in morning shift due to his semester holidays. Karthick started in the evening to home, while he is Sophia also started to home. When they came out of office Sophia called Karthick to give some surprise and she introduced Mr.Akilesh as her lover. Karthick was stunned seeing Akilesh. Then Karthick said hello to Akilesh. Akilesh called Karthick to the restaurant, Karthick said sorry I have to go, and then he accepted after Sophia called him. Then they went to nearby restaurant had some food and then they left home.
One day Karthick came to office in the afternoon talked to his friends and then went to manager to inform that he need ten days leave on next month for his exams. Manager Kumar told that it won’t be possible due to lack of employees. Karthick told I want this leave for my examinations, I am not asking this leave for vacations. Suddenly the conversation between manager and Karthick become very aggressive, and that was informed to Sophia so she came and compromised both. Then Sophia took Karthick to the HR and told that Karthick need leave for his exams but manager is nit permitting the leave for him. Then HR sanctioned leave to Karthick.
Karthick took leave for his exams and prepared very well for his exams. One day Sophia called Karthick and wished him for his examination. Karthick thanked her and said if you dint supported me for my leave means I would have not written the exams, this is my last semester if I missed it my life is gone. Thank you so much Sophia. (In the office Karthick only call her by name, this is permitted to Karthick only by Sophia) Sophia told no formalities Karthick I have done it to my friend.
After the exams got over Karthick came to office. Manager was not behaving properly to Karthick and Sophia after this incident.
A month later Karthick got a letter from IBM stating that he got selected in the campus interview. Karthick came to Sophia and informed that I got selected in IBM in IT department. Sophia congratulated him and asked when you are going to join. Karthick told after 15days I am in notice period.
After 15 days while leaving “VOICETEL” Karthick meet all his friends and he meet Sophia and told Sophia thank you so much for your co-operation in the work. I’ll be really missing you Sophia. Sophia said “Me too Karthick, I won’t be getting a good friend like you again. And she asked where will be your placement. Karthick told within two days I’ll be going to Bangalore for training and my job also will be there itself. So I’ll be taking my parents with me to Bangalore I asked my dad to leave the job but he is not accepting. If not I’ll be going alone. And I’ll be coming to Chennai monthly once. On that time I’ll be coming and meeting you. Sophia never forgets to invite me for your marriage. Sophia told I’ll be sending the first invitation to you only.
Karthick called Sophia and told that I joined the job and I am alone here and my parents are in Chennai. Sophia told all the very best for your job. And my father saw me and Akilesh in restaurant. Karthick asked what happened then. Sophia told my father told I must not meet Akilesh. But I told my patents I’ll be marrying Akilesh only. After that my father dint talked to me after that. Karthick said don’t worry he will be alright one day and your father will be accepting for your marriage surely. Sophia said thank you.
After some days his training got over. He got placed in USA as a project engineer. After one year he returned to Bangalore as a team lead. So he came to Chennai to meet his parents and his friends. After that he went to meet Sophia but she shifted her house, he tried to reach her in her mobile but she changed her mobile number also. So he was unable to meet her, he returned back to Bangalore. After six months he got transferred to Chennai as a senior team lead.
One day Karthick went for a purchase and while coming in his swift car he took a short cut to main road. When he is coming he saw a scooty pep bike lying in the middle of his way. He looked around from his car but he dint found anyone around but he is little scared because while some one come once he get down from the car. After a few minutes he slowly got down from his car. And watched around people is there one around him, but no one is there so he walked to the scooty, near to the bike he saw some drinks bottle while tracing those he saw a slipper of a girl, a chain, torn piece of cloth, chuddidar shawl now Karthick understood the situation so he ran faster into the bushes and platens.
He found that a number of five men trying to rape a girl. Karthick got into the situation and fought with them and those four men are wet (drunken) so they are not steady and they are unable to fight back with Karthick so those guys ran away. Though they were wet and unsteady but Karthick got injured badly. He got a cut in his hand by a man with a knife. He tied his hand with scarf. Then he searched for the girl, she was hiding behind the trees. Karthick said they all went you can come out. The girl said please don’t come near to me. Karthick understood that her dresses would have been tore by them. So he bought the dresses from his car and thrown it to her and asked her to wear the dress and l stay away. She wore the dress and came out behind the trees and bushes. Karthick turned to see her Karthick was shocked seeing her as well she also. Because she is Sophia his old team Supervisor in his Call center. Karthick shocking asked is that Sophia. Seeing Karthick, Sophia started crying a lot. Karthick said to Sophia come will go to hospital but Sophia was not even answering him she just keeps on crying after convincing her for a long time Karthick took her to car. She saw her bike. Karthick said I’ll ask my friends to give it in your house. While going to hospital Karthick asked his friend Kevin to leave the bike in his friend Sophia house because she got an accident. Kevin asked shall I come to hospital. Karthick no need to come. I’ll take care. Then his friend Kevin also said ok.
In the car Karthick took the first aid box and gave to Sophia to use it. Sophia saw the injury in Karthick’s hand. She was scared of it. Karthick took a band aid and tied around his hand and started to the hospital and took treatment in the hospital. Stiches were done to Karthick’s injury. While they were in the hospital itself Karthick called Katherine’s parents and informed them. When they reached home Sophia ran inside home crying. Karthick explained the situation to her parents and left her home. After some time Kevin came and gave the bike of Sophia to her father.
Karthick reached his home 12 midnight. His parents were afraid and standing outside the house and seeking for arrival of their son. When they saw Karthick was injured his mother scared and saw his body what had happened and started crying. Karthick took her inside the home and explained what had happened so his mother and father got compromised and his mother said I am very proud that my son got injured while saving a girls life. Karthick said that the girl is non-other than my supervisor Sophia when I was working in call center. Then Karthick went and had his food, took medicine for his injury and went to sleep but he was thinking about the situation were he meet Sophia. Still Karthick is in love with Sophia though she is in love with Akileshvar. Still he dint even told that he loved Sophia to any one not even to his best friend Kevin. Karthick was thinking of Sophia how he saw her today, he unable to control his anger, started crying and he slept by crying.
Morning when he got up his hands got bulged and that was very painful. He informed leave to his office. Karthick want to ask Sophia how is she but he is unable to, so he called her sister Diana. Yesterday only he got the mobile number of Sophia, Diana and her parents from Sophia’s while he called and informed Sophia’s parents about the incident from Sophia’s mobile. Then he Called Diana and asked is it Diana? She said yes, who’s this? This is Karthick, how is your sister now? Diana said thank you so much for saving my sister. Karthick said no need of all those things. How is your sister? Diana said, she is ok now but she was crying but night she didn’t even slept, shall I give the mobile to her. Karthick said no, no... Don’t disturb her. I’ll call her later. Good bye.
Two week later Karthick went to office at 10 am Karthick got a call, that’s the number of Sophia. Slowly he picked the call and said hello! Sophia from other end “how are you Karthick, are you ok. How is your hand injury? I am very sorry for that”. Karthick said I am very fine. How are you Sophia? I am well and good, I want to meet you, shall we? Karthick said ok. Sophia asked where we will meet. Karthick said your wish. Sophia said I tell you evening. Karthick said ok good bye.
In the evening Sophia called Karthick in his mobile for which he is waiting for. Shall we go to coffee shop on Wednesday? Karthick also accepted. After two days Karthick went to coffee shop and meet Sophia. Both ordered for a coffee, while they were having the coffee Sophia said thank you Karthick, thanks a lot for your help. I want to touch your feet and say thanks for your help. And I am very sorry because of me only you got hurt in your hand in knife. Is that injury got ok! Karthick was just seeing her face and listening to her without any replay. Sophia asked, what happened you’re not replaying anything? Karthick said, so you called me say sorry and thanks for everything. Karthick said I dint done that for your thanks and sorry. I have done that for my old friend. And I hate people who harass girls. And those five people were trying to show their power to a girl. I missed them that day; if I see them again I will even kill them. Karthick said friendship don’t expect thanks and sorry, just forget every thing and be happy. Karthick said one important secret! Sophia came close to Karthick and asked what that was! With a fears in her face. Karthick said if smile means you will be very beautiful better try that. Hearing this Sophia smiled with the shy. Karthick said that was really beautiful. Karthick asked Sophia shall we move. And both left the coffee shop.
On the next Friday Sophia called Karthick to want to meet you today, Karthick said sorry Sophia I got more today at my office so I can’t come. Sophia said please! Karthick said that won’t be possible. Sophia said my boy friend Akilesh want to meet you, and then Karthick accepted to come and were to come. Sophia said we meet in Greams road fruit shop at 8pm. Karthick please postponed that to 9pm will you. Sophia said ok. Karthick said I will be there at 9oclock sharp in fruit shop and cut the call with good bye.
Karthick reached the fruit shop at 9:10pm. Before him Sophia and Akilesh were waiting for Karthick. Karthick entered the fruit shop came and sites before Akilesh and Sophia. Akilesh ordered for a milk shake for him and Sophia. And asked what you like to take. Karthick said same as you. Akilesh said thank you so much for your help Karthick. Karthick said you people are very formal. I do that help for any girl, and Sophia is a well known to me for years and also my friend. Then how can I leave her away in that situation. You people please don’t ever think about this situation again. And call me for some other things not for thanking me for that situation. I don’t even want to remember that situation and don’t want to make you think about it but you people……
Don’t call me for thanking again. Sophia smiled and said sorry Karthick, my parents asked to call you on Sunday. I am very sorry for that. Karthick kept his hand in his head. Then said ok I’ll come on Sunday. Sophia asked Karthick please don’t talk about meet me and Akilesh in fruit shop. Karthick said I new it.
Karthick went to Sophia house on Sunday evening. Sophia and her parents welcomed Karthick happily. Before Karthick comes Sophia informed her parents that don’t talk about his help and don’t even say thanks to him for that he will fell very badly. So her parents dint spoken to Karthick about that incident. They were talking about what he is doing, how about his work, his parents etc. while they were talking Diana entered the house. When he saw Karthick she came running to Karthick and asked Karthick how are you, how is your job, how is your parents, where are you working now? Karthick asked for which question I’ll answer first. Diana smiled and said I am happy to see you after a long time. Karthick said me too and I am working in IBM as a project engineer. What about you? I have finished my Bsc computer science this year trying for job. Karthick said why can’t you try it in my company. Now they are recruiting people. Diana asked then shall I come for the interview tomorrow (Monday. Karthick said sure use my id for reference. After some time Karthick had lunch with them after that Karthick was talking with Sophia’s parents about some general things. While he was talking he saw his watch and said sorry sir it’s already late I have to go. Sophia’s parents (Sebastian and Maria) said nice speaking with you son, while talking with you the times runs rapid fast. Bye son. Karthick said good bye uncle.
Karthick went home and he was talking with his parents. He told his dad and mom that how happily Sophia’s parents were treating him. He told Sophia’s parents were very humble to him. Karthick’s mother Ramya told Karthick I also want to meet that family why can’t you call them to our house one fine day and she asked to Ramesh. He also told Karthick to call them home coming Sunday for lunch. Karthick told don’t talk anything about that accident and don’t talk about her lover matter. They may feel sad. Ramya and Ramesh agreed for it. Karthick said ok I’ll call them for Sunday.
Karthick called Sophia on Monday and told that my parents also want to meet you and your family so you need to come to my home for lunch on coming Sunday. Sophia asked why all these formalities Karthick. Sorry it’s my parents wish so I can’t denied that Sophia. Is there any issues? Sophia said there are no issues but I need to check it up with my parents. Please check it up. And call me back, good bye. Sophia said bye and cut off. She checked with her parents and called Karthick and told that my father won’t be available this week he will go to “Thiruchi” so my dad told will better come to your house on next week. Is that will be fine Karthick? Karthick said that will be well and good. So we will be waiting for your family next Sunday. Ok bye Karthick. Good bye Sophia.
On Tuesday morning Karthick received a call from Diana. Karthick picked the call, hi Diana how are you? Diana said very fine Karthick, how are you? Karthick said, Fine too. I was thinking to call you for that interview. Come tomorrow morning to my office (Karthick gave the address of his office) once you reached my office call me so that I can meet you before the interview. Diana said ok, bye and hangs up.
Next day morning Diana came to Karthick’s office for interview. She called Karthick in his mobile. Karthick came out from his cabin and meet Diana and her some tips for the interview and gave his employee number as reference. And he also informed his manager that she is his friend. Karthick told Diana no need to worry be bold and I have informed my manager that you’re my friend so no issues. You will be definitely getting selected in the interview but my manager will always look for some boldness, perfection, qualification and some attitude. All these you need to show off. A person came and called Diana for interview. Karthick called that person and introduced him to Diana and she is my friend and he is my co-league Rajesh. Karthick asked who is conducting interview. Rajesh said Mr. Ram prasad only. Rajesh wished “Best of luck” to Diana. Karthick said I don’t believe in luck. So “All the very best” to you Diana. Call me once the interview is finished. After 2 hours Diana called Karthick. Karthick what happened? Diana said I dint got selected Karthick (in a soft voice).
Karthick asked why, what happened? Diana said you come to cafeteria I’ll tell. Karthick came out from his cabin to meet Diana. Diana was sitting in the chair in cafeteria. Karthick went near and asked Diana what happened she laughed and said I lied you Karthick I got selected and gave him a 5star. Diana said first I meet the HR team and they asked me some formal questions and I told your name for reference and then they asked me to wait in the next cabin to meet the General Manager Mr. ram prasad I gave him my file he saw it and asked how you know Karthick. I told we were working in a same domestic call center before two years. And he asked me do you want to join this company? I said yes sir. He asked will you think that you will get selected in this interview. I said yes sir. He said Ok then you’re selected. I am selecting you for two reasons one for your good marks in your studies and the other reason is for the reference of Karthick, because he won’t refer an unqualified person. So you are selected and you can join the training session next week get the other details from the HR team. And then I got the details from the HR team. Thank you so much Karthick. Karthick said Please don’t be formal Diana. Just come will have cup of coffee. After having a coffee Diana said ok Karthick I’ll go home. Karthick said ok Diana go home safe once reached home call me back. Diana said sure Karthick, bye bye. Karthick said good bye. Diana asked you always wish people good bye is there any specific reason like “best of luck” and “all the best”. Karthick said yes, Goodbye comes from the eastern English language which means (good b with ye) "God be with you". If other doesn’t believe in that also let my word be a positive one. So Good bye. Diana also said good bye and left.
Once she reached home she called Karthick and said that I have reached home Karthick and my mom want to talk to you and gave to her mom Maria. Maria took the phone and wished Karthick thank you son for getting her this job. Karthick said no aunty there no effort of mine it’s all her qualification that bought her that job. Days later Karthick and Sophia’s family become very close friends.
One day after the work time Karthick started from office to go home in office bus. But on that day Diana also got in the same bus of Karthick but she used to go in a different bus though she is from different location. When she saw Karthick she came and sat next to him. Karthick asked why you are in this bus. Diana told we shifted the house near your location for rent. My father bought a new house and the work is going to get completed in few days so we are going to shift completely. So we need to look after the work so we rented the house next to it. Once it is done we will invite you for the inauguration function of the new house and you must come. Karthick said sure I will. Daily Karthick and Diana used to have a big talk till they reach home and to office. After a month as Diana said her parents invited Karthick and his parents. Karthick also participated in the function with his parents. Diana’s father told this was my dream house for my younger daughter Diana. Karthick told what about Sophia. Sebastian told I already bought a house in the name of Sophia. The old houses were we were. And the function was come to an end very well.
After a week Karthick was looking for Diana in the bus she dint came so he called he in her mobile but her mobile was not picked so after some time once Karthick reached the office he called her still it was ringing so he her in the evening still it was unanswered so he stopped calling her. Then once he is starting from the office he called her again still she is not reachable so he called Sophia but unfortunately Sophia’s mobile was also unanswered so Karthick got a doubt and called Mr. Sebastian, after a few rings he picked the call. Karthick told uncle it’s me Karthick. Hearing the voice of Karthick Mr. Sebastian started crying. Karthick don’t know what happened uncle? Diana got the phone from her father and asked who’s this? Karthick told it’s me. Diana was also crying. Karthick asked what happened. Diana told Sophia committed suicide. Hearing this Karthick got shocked what you are saying. How is she now? Where are you? Diana told she is in Emergency care, we are in Apollo hospital. Karthick told I’ll come there now don’t worry.
Karthick started from office to Apollo hospital. When he reached the hospital he saw Mr. Sebastian. When he saw Karthick, he hugged Karthick and started crying. Karthick compromised Sebastian and went to Diana and asked her what happened. Diana told that yesterday my father saw Sophia and Akilesh in the coffee shop so when Sophia reached home dad started shouting at her. She told I will marry him only. So dad told that he is going to fix marriage for her with a boy whom he had selected and if I saw him again with you I’ll hand him over to police. After that she went to her room and closed the door. At 4’clock I got up to drink water, that time I saw she was lying on the bed unconsciously with some tablets in her hand. So I informed it to dad he broke the door and entered her room. And we brought her to the hospital. Karthick told don’t worry nothing will happened to her. Where is your mom? We bought Sophia to hospital and admitted her but doctor told there is only 50% chance to save her. Hearing this she fainted and fell down and she is admitted in room no. 22. Karthick said don’t worry Sophia will be alright. I’ll go and see your mom.
Karthick went and saw her mom, she was given with some and she was sleeping so Karthick went and saw Sophia in emergency ward and then he left the hospital. Went and got in the car. A drop of tear from his eyes. He wiped his eyes and tells himself “nothing will happen to my Sophie, she will be alright”. Starts his car and went away.
Karthick reached home, his mom asked him what happened, why so late. Karthick explained what happened. His parents also felt bad about that. So Ramesh and Ramya went to hospital to see Sophia. When they went to see her she was unconscious so they were talking to her parents they tried to convince her parents to accept for her love. After a long conversation Sophia’s parents also accepted for the Sophia’s love. Sophia’s father told after she got well we will fix the marriage date for Sophia. Ramesh and Ramya told that we are very happy to hear this. Once Ramesh and Ramya reached home they told that we have spoken to her parents as you said and they also accepted for it. Mr. Sebastian told “Once Sophia got discharged from hospital we will talk to that boys parents and fix the marriage date”. Karthick talks himself, Akilesh is lucky.
After some days Sophia called Karthick. Karthick picks the call “Hi Sophia how are you now, and how is your health?” Sophia from the other end said “I am very fine Karthick” (in a trembling voice).
