Just a Thanksgiving
treat to ya’ll. Happy Turkey
Day!
“Natalie!” My 16 year old sister, Laura slammed the door of
my bedroom open. “Get ready now.”
I was stretched lazily on my bed reading a good book
undisturbed- until now. I rolled onto my back and sat up, having a stare down
with my sister. She thinks she so great just because she’s a freshman in high
school this year and she’s so “popular”.
Now, she wanted me to get up and get ready for...
Biiing! The chime of the bell echoed through the classroom. Alive with adrenaline, I shoved my book in my desk and hastily tried to stuff as many papers as I could in my binder. In the front of the room, Ms. Shoan sighed. "Okay class, homework is page eighty-one and don't forget, your papers are due tommorrow!"With replying groans with the class, I took one last glance back at the classroom and got the heck out of there. I wanted a good spot in the lunch line.Twisting the knob of my locker to...
There was a moment of
silence before Hannah managed to sputter;
“What the hell is she doing with that bitch?!”
“Language Hannah.” Jayden
teased.
I sat back in my chair,
astounded. Zoe had common sense, and even if she was flirty, she would have
enough sense to stay away from him...right?
“Hey guys!” a cheerful
voice interrupted us.
We all looked up, and saw
Jamie peering back up at us. When she saw our faces, her...
Drifting down the hall with
Jayden by my side (her locker was conveniently next to mine), I swept my black
hair behind my ear and nodded as Jayden kept on talking.
“…Thinking of telling Ryan
to tell Sky how I feel.” Jayden was saying, wrapping a lock of her poufy, curly
hair around her finger.
“You’re finally going to
tell him?” I said, mildly surprised.
Jayden nodded. “Which
reminds me…do you like anyone?”
I gulped and said,...
Last
period. I breathed a sigh of relief as Ms. Jamal unlocked the door to the P.E.
locker room at the end.
Facing
my P.E. locker, my hand brushed against the cool, blue metal that was chipping
away so it revealed the rusty skin underneath. Skillfully twisting my hand to
the right combo, it clicked open and I quickly changed to the comfortable
material of my street clothes.
I
glanced up the big clock above the lockers, which read 5 minutes to three....
This was just an assignment for school..Happy Halloween!
(hope you enjoy this J)
On
a moonless night (the day before Halloween), my best friend Trisha and I were
tromping through the cemetery. She insisted it was a shortcut to the movies. I,
of course, being the practical one, was completely against it. But of course,
she had won the argument and so here we...
Authors Note: Merry
Xmas you guys! Here’s something to read over break- and let me tell you- its
looong.
I enclosed my hands over a hand
warmer that was in my hand as I waited for Coach Valerie to finish up the
lesson before mine. I shivered as I laced my skates one more time before
standing up. I really needed to get them sharpened soon…
“Janice,
it’s your turn now.” Coach Valerie called...
“Now
the importance of algebraic equations..”
Now,
this is what I hated about home-schooling. Sure, you got to sleep in
or manage o avoid disgusting school food (or so I've heard it was
disgusting), but the person who was teaching the class had only eyes
on you alone.
“Harmony!
Are you listening to me?...”
I
drowned out the annoying drone of Mrs. Peacock (yes, I know what your
thinking, Peacock?!). Forget her. I was thinking about my two
cousins, Aurora and...
“FELICIA GRACE DAWSON!”
Aunt Hannah screamed.
“HARMONY HOPE EVANS!” My
mom screamed.
“AURORA VIOLET HALL!” Aunt
Ella screamed.
Oh Dear, I
thought to myself. How did we get in so much trouble?
And to think it all started
two days...
I adjusted my plaid skirt
nervously and turned to my best friend, Emma Belle Neal. “I really hope we
don’t get caught.” I said, chewing my lower lip.
Emma tossed her brown hair and smiled confidently. “Don’t
worry! As long as we’re here, might as well have some fun.”
I squinted against the sun as we approached the brick red
building. I glanced over...
